★★★★★ Sherlock Holmes – The Hound of the Baskervilles
What would you say if someone hired you to investigate their family curse?
This is exactly what happens to the well-known rationalist Sherlock Holmes, the protagonist of the book series of the same name. The Hound of the Baskervilles is undoubtedly one of the most popular books in the series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Despite being published in 1901, the story continues to amaze young and old readers to this day. We follow Holmes and Watson through this exceedingly mysterious case involving a supernatural legend and seemingly unexplainable obstacles they come across. With his thrilling and interesting way of writing, the author catches the reader’s attention at all times and often leaves them on the edge of their seats, He draws connections between the tiniest things and keeps the reader invested and guessing. The arrangement of the many different characters creates an immersive interplay, and their emotional depth enhances great empathy.
In conclusion, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle composed a highly thrilling and exciting story which focuses on well-thought-out criminal thinking and always leaves a new surprise to the reader.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys trying to solve mysterious crimes, while also getting new perspectives on human-thinking.
However, if you do not speak native or advanced English, you could have many difficulties if you read the original and should consider buying a version that is adapted too easier language.
Matthis Gilles:
I think ,,The Hound of the Baskervilles’’ is a very interesting and exciting book. The story is about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson trying to solve the mystery of the Baskerville family and the legend of a dangerous hound. I liked how the book creates suspense and keeps the reader interested the whole time.
The atmosphere in the story is dark and mysterious, especially on the moors. While reading, I always wanted to know what would happen next. I also liked the character of Sherlock Holmes because he is very smart and notices details that other people miss. Sometimes the language was a little difficult because the book is older, but the story itself was still easy enough to follow. The ending was surprising and made the book even better for me.
Overall, I enjoyed reading ,,The Hound of the Baskervilles’’ because it is full of mystery, suspense, and interesting characters. I would recommend it to people who like detective stories. Personally I would rate the book 4 out of 5 stars.
